SYNERTX, a national provider of contract rehabilitation services and an industry leader in regulatory expertise, brings you a powerful tool to calculate your 2008 SNF Prospective Payment System rates effective October 1, 2007. The information provided should be verified by your own accounting department or CPA*.
National rates were increased approximately 3.3% for 2008, but each county in the country may have had wage adjustments that would increase or decrease their rates from this national average. That is why we provide this service to calculate your specific rates for any facility in the country. To compare your specific increase, divide one of the new rates with the respective old rate for the percentage change in your facility rate.
Each year, SYNERTX publishes a colorful poster of national rates and explanations of the RUGs categories that includes the CMI index, relative occurrence of patient days in each category, and the rehab, nursing and NCM component values for each rate. These posters are available at our booths at the AHCA convention (October 8-10, 2007 in Boston, MA) and the AAHSA national convention (October 22-24 in Orlando, FL). We hope to see you there.

For example, CMS has made last minute corrections to rates for each of the last 2 years that have resulted in typically penny differences in rates, but still different. These rates are based on the Federal Register 42 CFR Part 409 dated August 3, 2007 - Medicare Program; Prospective Payment System and Consolidated Billing for Skilled Nursing Facilities for FY 2008; Final Rule
Please check with your Accountant or Fiscal Intermediary for any last minute corrections to rates.
