A day in the life of a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant in the San Angelo, TX Area!

Imagine … this could be your life!

Morning
You start off your morning with a brisk walk from your Ballinger home to the diner around the corner, where Jamie greets you as if you’d lived here your whole life. After she pours you a cup of coffee, the two of you chat about how her Grandma is doing after her fall, and you remind her that it will only be a week before she comes home. You look at the time, and hop in your car and head off to your first destination of the day.

At work
When you arrive at the facility, you are welcomed by familiar friendly faces. Today is the big day when Mrs. Goodman is going home. It’s almost like a party when her family comes to pick her up, and you can’t help but smile and join in the hugs. There are a few more treatments and a quick word with the DON and you’re off to the next facility.

Elisa at the front desk greets you and you go about your treatments with ease; it’s a little more subdued at this facility, but it still feels like home. After a couple of hours, it’s time to get back to Ballinger to finish up your treatments for the day.  You use the time in the car to call your supervising PT and fill him in on the day so far, and your plans for the next day.  You love working with Jacob – he’s got tons of experience and he always supports your clinical judgment.  In fact, that’s how you feel about SYNERTX in general – the company is great to work for – they never micro-manage and always support your work out in the field.  And the fact that you can reach your Staffing Coordinator even on weekends makes your schedule a lot easier to manage!

Back home in Ballinger, you see Jamie’s Grandma for a treatment and she asks you to remind Jamie about their planned visit tomorrow. You promise to remind her, even though you know she wouldn’t forget. As you leave your last patient of the day, you think that this must be how it feels to be part of a large, loving family.  The warmth and hospitality that you get every day from these West Texas residents always surprises you.

Evening
Relaxing at home, you have time to read the next book for the book club that you started just after you moved here. This month it’s going to be held in nearby Bronte, where your best friend lives. It’s his turn to lead the group, and you’re excited that your small endeavor is growing across the area.  You were nervous about moving here at first, but now you feel like you’ve lived here your whole life and could not imagine yourself elsewhere.  And when you do, you head off to San Angelo or Abilene for some bigger city fun!  But you’re always glad to come back home.
