Occupational Therapist Assistant in Litchfield Park, Arizona

Litchfield Park Facility 1Colorado RiverLitchfield Park Facility 2

We service a large continuing care retirement community in Litchfield Park, near Luke AFB, and we're hiring a Full-Time Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team! This beautiful campus has a skilled nursing facility where dynamic, sub-acute rehab is provided. About half of the caseload comes from the Orthopedic and Joint Recovery program, and the rest is a combination of neuro rehab and typical SNF diagnoses. Currently the rehab department has cutting-edge equipment, such as an Omni VR (one of only two in the whole state!), e-stim, ultrasound, and excellent exercise equipment. Additionally, the facility is undergoing a remodel to include a state-of-the-art rehab gym and outpatient clinic to be completed in 2013! This is your chance to get in on the ground level of a growing and innovative therapy program!

Litchfield Park, Arizona

Climate: Life in the Valley of the Sun means sunshine year-round and very mild winters with December and January average highs of 68 degrees. The summers are hot, but the warm summer evenings are perfect for patio dining, swimming, or simply relaxing in your back yard. If you need to get away from the heat, a short drive to Northern Arizona can be a refreshing day or weekend trip!

Living: Originally founded as a farming community by Goodyear Tire executive Paul Weeks Litchfield, this small town of just over 5,000 is now considered a suburb of Phoenix. Its affluent and well-educated population gives it an economic edge over nearby suburbs. The town is adjacent to Luke Air Force Base, the largest and only active-duty training base for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and future site of training for the F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Additionally, living in close proximity to Phoenix gives you and your family access to jobs and amenities to suit any lifestyle. You will also enjoy very reasonable cost of living and low taxes (no property tax, 8.3% sales tax, and low income taxes).

Attractions: A very family-oriented town, Litchfield Park is located in an area of metro Phoenix that offers dozens of options for family fun. Spend the day at the Wildlife Wolrd Zoo & Aquarium discovering exotic animals and sea creatures, or take the family to a Spring Training Game at Goodyear Ballpark, home of the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians. Getting some outdoor recreation is easy with Estrella Mountain Regional Park and White Tanks Regional Park just minutes away! And when you're looking for more adult fun, the Wigwam Resort is a first class destination that offers three 18-hole championship golf courses, a full service spa, and decadent dining amenities.

Of course, Litchfield Park is part of a large metro area; the Valley of the Sun boasts over 4 million people and Phoenix is the sixth largest city in the country! Although Phoenix is a younger city, it is fast becoming a world-class city, with all four major professional sports teams (Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Coyotes, Arizona Cardinals, and Arizona Diamondbacks), a stellar art museum, nationally recognized symphony, the Phoenix International Raceway, high-end shopping and vibrant nightlife in nearby Scottsdale and Tempe, and much more. There really is something for everyone in Phoenix!

Education: The Litchfield Elementary District has highly rated schools with excellent educators and a wide variety of academic and other extracurricular programs. Arizona also offers school choice, so you can pick any school in the district! The Agua Fria Union High School District has four high schools serving Litchfield Park and the surrounding communities. The district strives to have each graduate college and career ready.

The Maricopa Community Colleges network has three campuses within an easy commute of Litchfield Park: Estrella Mountain, Rio Salado, and Glendale Community Colleges. These campuses offer a wide range of courses to complete Associate’s Degrees or transfer to a four-year college. Just a short drive to the east is Arizona State University in Tempe, fast becoming the model for the New American University!
